Hi, I'm Wekem, a UCL Biochemistry graduate and an exam-focused IGCSE & A-level tutor in Biology, Chemistry and Physics who has been tutoring for 5 years. I did 6 A-levels achieving A*A*AAAA (A* in Biology and Chemistry). I wasn't always an A* student; I didn't go to the best sixth-form or had the best teachers often leaving Biology lessons more confused than I came in. When I began tutoring in my gap year, I realised I wasn't alone. Students weren't struggling because they weren't smart or weren't trying. Their teachers were moulding them around the concept instead of moulding the concept around them. That's why I tutor differently. I don't talk at you for an hour about biological molecules or DNA replication. I show you why it matters and what's actually going on, then train you to apply it under exam conditions, whether that's an evaluate question or a suggest question on something you've never seen. Because understanding the content is only the first step, applying it to questions is the challenge. I've taught hundreds of students, and I know what works for one doesn't work for all. Some are visual learners who need images and step-by-step breakdowns. Others need concepts tied to everyday life, whether that's a TV show they're watching or the objects around them. Some just need someone to push them and believe in them. I take my time to make specialised mark-scheme-specific notes for every one of my students. If English isn't your first language, that might mean breaking down key terms. If you're a visual learner, it might mean images and an accompanying video. And I don't disappear between sessions. If you're stuck on a past paper question at 11pm before a mock, message me and I'll actually respond. If you've been struggling with Biology for a while, worry no further, as I'm here to guide you with all the tips and tricks I've learnt over the years. Book your first lesson. I can't wait to get started.
