Tricia-Ann M. Jamaica
7 years experience · English
Hello, and welcome! I’m Ms. Tricia-Ann M. McDonald, a passionate and dedicated educator with more than seven years of teaching experience in Jamaica and the United States. My areas of expertise include Social Studies, History, curriculum development, instructional design, assessment, and student engagement.
As your instructor, my goal is to create a learning environment where you feel supported, challenged, and confident in your ability to succeed. I believe learning should go beyond memorizing facts. Together, we will explore historical events, political and social issues, and important ideas while developing the critical-thinking, research, analytical, and problem-solving skills you can use both inside and outside the classroom.
Throughout my career, I have designed and delivered engaging lessons for diverse learners and have experience with every stage of the learning process, from curriculum planning and standards alignment to lesson development, assessment, feedback, and data-informed instruction.
As someone who has taught in both Jamaica and the United States, I bring a global and multicultural perspective to my teaching. I have also served as a Cultural Ambassador, sharing Jamaican culture and perspectives with diverse school communities. These experiences have taught me the importance of respecting different viewpoints and creating spaces where every student feels valued and heard.
I am committed to continuous learning and professional growth.
Most importantly, I want you to know that your success matters to me. I look forward to helping you ask meaningful questions, think critically, connect what you learn to the world around you, and become a more confident and independent learner.
Welcome to the class, I’m excited to learn with you!
