I am an experienced and committed educator most recently working as Head of the EAL Department at a secondary academy in Essex. I hold a current, Enhanced DBS certificate. I am passionate about supporting young people who face barriers to learning and enabling them to achieve their potential through high-quality teaching, inclusive practice, and strong pastoral support. As EAL lead, I was responsible for the planning and delivery of high-quality teaching, learning and assessment for EAL students. This included developing Schemes of Work, preparing engaging and differentiated lessons, assessing student progress and providing targeted feedback to support improvement. My cohort included students with SEN and SEMH needs, who required carefully adapted teaching approaches and strong pastoral awareness.
